Services: attenuated transmission
and/or reflectance (ATR) spectra are taken
in the near and medium infrared ranges,
allowing determining fluctuating energies
of phonons. The FTIR spectra allow identifying
the presence of composites or elements and
quantitatively evaluating their percentages
in the sample. For liquid samples MIR is
measured via KBr cell transmission and in
the NIR through ATR with ZnSe simple holder.
For powdered samples, MIR is measured via
transmission forming KBr pellets. For films
or thin solids, MIR and NIR are measured
via transmission and ATR.
For semiconducting materials with electronic
transitions in the near IR, optical absorption
spectra are observed.
